What is MyCIF?

Malaysia Co-Investment Fund

MyCIF is an initiative that was set up by the Malaysian government to co-invest in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (“MSMEs”) alongside private investors through Equity Crowdfunding (“ECF”) and Peer-to-Peer Financing (“P2P”) platforms. It is administered by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Who is eligible to apply MyCIF? (Year 2024)

1. Only applicable to MSMEs who meet the requirements set forth by respective MyCIF participant's platforms;
2. Invest ECF or P2P projects with a ratio as below:
   
   • General MSME Scheme (1:4 ratio)
     
     • MyCIF will invest in ECF or P2P projects with a ratio of 1:4;
       
     • For example: for every successful crowdfunded RM4, MyCIF will invest RM1 to the company. If the company successfully raise RM400,000, an additional RM100,000 will be provided by MyCIF
   • Food Security Scheme (1:2 ratio)
     
     • To support the National food security agenda, MyCIF will invest on a 1:2 ratio for ECF and P2P campaigns by MSMEs in upstream segment of agriculture and bio-economy sectors
       
     • For a limited period, the above MSMEs are also eligible to be granted the following MyCIF incentives until the end of 2025:
       
       • 0% financing rate in eligible P2P campaigns; and
       • Foregoing dividend income in eligible ECF campaigns.
         
   • Environmental & social impact scheme (1:2 ratio)
     
     • MyCIF will invest on a 1:2 ratio for ECF and P2P campaigns by MSMEs that:
       
     • Create impact in the following focus areas:
       
       • Community
       • Education
       • Environment
       • Food SecurityHealthcare
         
     • Meet the requirements set forth in MyCIF Impact Assessment Framework.
       

 

How to apply MyCIF?
